Lucky
Born 25-9-1979 to 17-4-1994

Born on 25th September 1979 Lucky was the only surviving puppy delivered in to this world by caesarean. The vet asked if we wanted the mother or the puppies to survive, my dad said to save Cindy as we loved her so much. We were informed that a puppy had survived and Cindy was okay.
All 7 pups were still born and were going green inside Cindy, this puppy was high up in the chest and was very small only 2OZ. The comment from the vet was "for what its worth here he is " thinking he would not see him again, we were told this at his 6 week check up. A few days later Cindy could not settle and we discovered lucky had developed an eye infection. The vet gave us cream which had to be forced in the eye as his eyes had not opened as yet. four weeks later we took a healthy puppy to the vets for his first jabs. Lucky although a family pet became my dog, and even though he has been gone over ten years I still miss him.
As a child you do not appreciate that the time you have with them is so short,
by the time I learnt to drive he became too old to travel around with me, he was
nearly ten years old. He developed a heart murmur at around eleven years.
My cousin used to stay over and lucky always went up stairs in the morning to
wake him up, he would jump on the bed. He was so good at playing with a hoop I
would throw it and he would run through it as it rolled along the ground. Often
as a child I would spend hours playing in the garden.
He was just that lucky

Died 17th April 1994
